Most Embarssing Moment

It was a cold winter night in Bell Buckle, Tn basketball season had just started and I was ecstatic for my first game. It had been thirty minutes before my first game and my knee was bothering me so I decided to take a few painkillers. Even though taking those painkillers have nothing to do with what took place on the court I always will blame my actions on the medication. Well, we took the court and the game was going well the crowd was loud and very emotional towards plays and calls, until one specific play our coach called a time towards the end. It is a tie ball game with a minute left, the coach decided to draw a play that, well suppose to help us get past the pressure. So as we were in the huddle I read the play totally wrong and instead of asking to repeat I just shook my head like I knew what exactly was going on. I got on the court not knowing that the ball was being imbounded to me. So as soon as I received the ball the defender started pressuring hard and all my teammates were on the same side of the court as me so I thought in my head that this was our side of the court so I laid the ball up into the wrong goal. The crowd went silent the referee looked so confused and at the time I didn’t know exactly what happened until one player told me don’t worry we will get it back. Then when people on the sideline figured out what exactly just happened they started to laugh and I looked at the score and saw the other team got the point and it all registered to me. So being also very young I called time out and hide my face in my jersey and didn’t say a word to no one for about a month. And that day will always be the most embarrassing moment in my life.
