Veterans do not receive the treatment they deserve, because the main source of treatment, the VA (Veterans Affairs), does not provide efficient treatment, an average of 22 veterans a day commit suicide and many veterans have to deal with their problems unsolved on a day to day basis, untreated. The VA is slow, does not really care for treating veterans properly by having them wait forever to see a specialist, then on several occasions, getting denied MRI’s or surgeries needed to fix problems they have. Veterans, most who have seen combat, commit suicide because they do not receive the treatment they need to cope with having lived and been through combat. There has even been a trend of committing said suicide in the VA parking lot. This revolves back to veterans having to deal with their problems untreated, like PTSD, because they do not receive therapy they need or medication that can potentially help them cope with the horrors of war.

The progression of technology alone in the 20th century is vast, including the transformation of the automobile, the invention of the computer, and the television. The automobile changed in a major way from Henry Ford’s Model T and the first assembly line to becoming a piece of daily life, to where everyone had to own one and it becoming the main source of transformation. The computer, from becoming large machines that could only hold acute amounts of technology, to connecting the whole world through the internet and becoming a household device that everyone uses, and now can own/does own. The television was once said to be an item that people would not sit in front of an “waste” the time to look at, whoever said that was wrong. The television has progressed majorly from bulky, black and white colored box sets, to showing in color and even including more stations to watch and be able to watch VHS tapes on.

Integration of African Americans in the military was vital because a new found respect was created amongst all troops serving with them, it helped black men break barriers, and changed the military forever. In the postwar years of WWII african americans were allowed to be integrated in units with white men in all branches, before they were allowed to serve but in their units, commanded by white officers. This was vital for respect of black men because even though there may have been racial divide amongst some of the men, in combat during the Korean War and onwards, they were well respected under fire and changed a lot of the mindsets men had set on black men before serving together. It helped with breaking barriers because it was a step towards integration in one of the highest levels of American life and liberty. From this point on, it changed the military forever because black men were now integrated, as time went on they could hold higher rank and power within the command, and some of the best military men have been african americans and none of that could’ve happened without the integration in the first place.

Cigarettes are worse than e cigs, because they can cause cancer, the nicotine addiction is far more addicting, and the harm caused to the body is more life threatening. Cigarettes in the past have been linked to cancer, most notably lung cancer, which is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. The addiction to nicotine from cigarettes is far worse, for it comes straight from the tobacco and e cigs/vapes have a controlled amount of nicotine in the juice. The harm the smoke/nicotine from cigarettes causes can ruin your gums and teeth, lungs, and even day to day life just based on having to stop to make smoke breaks. The effects on the gums, teeth and lungs and end up in loss and even death.

Rap music is getting worse because the music is getting more violent, influence drug usage and promoted gang related activity. Although rap music was always violent, the violence portrayed with your old rappers tell a story on what they had to do to survived on daily basis on the streets versus modern day rappers show violence to portray dominance and to sell a dream to listeners of a life that is not real. Alongside drug influence was more about how they sold the drugs to make money it was there way of making money but rappers today or more about how they use the drugs and the influenced the listeners to use drugs. The gang related activity was something that is carried on in both generations but was promoted more in the older generations. Overall the old generation just painted the day to day life style of the life of african american which made the music more valuable because you could listen to the music and know the feeling of being in that time where as the music in today’s society shows the way to jail.

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a bad move for Japan because the united States declared war on them, they deceitfully attacked the pacific fleet and it entered the United States and Japan in to a four year long conflict. The United States declaring war on Japan broadened Japan’s front as they were already in China, Korea and various other pacific islands and countries, trying to take over that part of the world, and fighting the Americans would require men and resources elsewhere. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 in a surprise attack consisting of the Japanese fleet bringing aircraft in range to bomb the United States pacific fleet and airfields. The United States declaring war on Japan led both countries into four years of long, bloody conflicts, jumping from island to island which the Americans became the successors of and inched closer and closer to Japan. Instead of an amphibious assault on Japan, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the war in the pacific.

Execution or the death penalty is self explanatory a person commits a crime and the court rules that the best punishment is to be put to death. Most times these crimes that are committed are brutal in sense of a murder of one or more persons which would be resulted in the execution process but should this process of execution should be televised? I feel as though they should not be televised because a lot of the criminals have to sit and server their time in a cell regretting what they did and by the time they reach the death row date they have to face a death and being humiliated in front of everyone. Also what if someone was charge with false accusation and the family of that individual have to watch that person on death row over and over again. Having death row televised can be a gruesome event to watch, and having it on public T.V means that anyone has access to it which children can see this event which can potentially scare them for life. This should not be televised based on the seriousness of the event and what take place.

“Steve Chapman is a communist and editorial writer for the Chicago Tribune. In this article are blacks to blame for cops actions that is published on December 5th 2014 Chapman points out that black communities and how they conduct themselves is the cause of cops actions.” After reading his article on ‘Are blacks to blame for the cops actions?’. I agree that blacks are to blame for cops actions in today’s society the reason why is because the problems is in the black community.  African Americans are stereotyped based off of the crimes they commit although it is wrong just judge the whole race however majority of crimes that are committed in the black community are black-on-black crimes which is the highest same race crime in the U.S. On top of that African Americans has the highest rate of prisoners in the U.S. With these problems result in high policing in certain areas which are predominately black communities to limit the black on black crime but with this action there is an increasing rate of arrest that will be black people. African Americans also in jail in the US have committed a large share of violent crimes which can portray them to be a violent race. This gives police officers no other option but to be on guard when approaching a African-American for their safety and civilian safety surround them. To resolve this problem in today’s society African Americans will need to worry about what’s wrong in their communities instead of blaming the police academy. By fixing their communities can proceed them to be a better race and allow them to progress. Which will result in less policing and stereotyping in the negative light which overall will lower there crime rate and the concerns of police towards the African American race.

The question is always posed whether or not abortion be allowed. Considering the fact that a baby can be born in 20 weeks in the 2 trimester and even in some cases in 16 weeks which is considered to be the earliest stage in the second trimester. Abortion is an extremely touchy subject in today’s society. I believe abortion should be illegal for many reasons. Abortion deprives an innocent child of its life for things outside of the child’s control. I just recently watched a video on how an abortion procedure is done, and it was one of the most horrifying things I have ever watched. The baby’s limbs were ripped from the body and pulled out of the mother with what looked to be tongs. I understand when women are raped and don’t want to keep the child, or they don’t think they are currently fit to provide for the child, but the baby can be adopted or fostered out to a family who is unable to to bare a child.

After watching Blackfish, I realize that instead of the movie focusing on facts about SeaWorld and captive whales. The movie gives the impression of false and emotionally manipulative scenes concerning the collection and separation of killer whales from the wild life. Also the movie relies questionable to film-making techniques to create the facts that only supports Gabriela Cowperthwaite point of views against SeaWorld. During the process of making the movie Seaworld ‘apparently’ was asked multiple times to have their input but they rejected it.

The movie BlackFish was emotionally manipulative and obviously bias from the interviewed staff and “biologists”. I found that their are negative testimonies about SeaWorld in particular to be less than credulous. After watching this film we responded differently emotionally to the scenes involving the capture and segregation of the animals and the “eyewitness” testimony from the Sealand of the Pacific incident rather than SeaWorld. The story is also largely told (about 95% just a guess) through the voices of five former SeaWorld trainers is problematic that means that there are really no facts but just emotions. There aren’t many specifics when it comes to just how long each of them worked there, at least none that we can not tell you, and the fact none of them seem to hold any personal responsibility for what takes place of what goes on around Seaworld, also is ‘kind of fishy’.

After reading another article of another trainer, her opinion towards trainers job and captive whales were different. She then beginnings to stress how she is “tired to see how people are manipulated by emotions” and she later on concluded by saying, “Yes there are risk but the risk are reasonable and manageable” we also believe that working with an animal is just a much of a risk as a policeman, racing, boxing and more but it is all about how the person approach the situation.
